Out of two hundred fifty seven (257) takers of the 2018 undergraduate scholarship of Department of Science and Technology– Science Education Institutes (DOST-SEI) held at Nueva Vizcaya State University Library on September 15, 2017, only ninety-three students passed the examination.
Last May 28, 2018, the 93 passers signed the scholarship agreement at FTM Food Fiesta, Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya.
Prior to the signing of agreement, an orientation was conducted by Ms. Cecile Calagui and Ms. Geraldine Cruz. They explained the terms and conditions as well as the benefits of the scholarship. The orientation was attended by the qualifiers together with their parents.
Engr. Jonathan R. Nuestro, Provincial Director of PSTC Nueva Vizcaya, congratulated them for passing the examination and reminded them how privileged they are to be DOST Scholars and that they should take advantage of that opportunity to excel.
Part of the said agreement includes that the scholars should enroll S&T priority courses in the state universities, colleges or tertiary institutions identified as centers of excellence or center of development by CHED or at least Level III accredited by FAAP for the S&T programs covered under the DOST-SEI undergraduate or DOST-SEI identified network institutions. They shall also maintain the grade requirement of the scholarship. Scholars would enjoy scholarship privileges such as , tuition and other school fees worth 40,000.00 per academic year, book allowance of 10,000.00 per year, MS/PE uniform of Php. 1,000.00, premium group insurance, monthly living allowance of Php. 7,000.00 and a graduation clothing allowance of Php. 1,000.00. # (RGD)
