The Department of Science and Technology—Provincial Science and Technology Center-Nueva Vizcaya actively participated  in the 9th Grand Ammungan Festival of the Province of Nueva Vizcaya on May 22-24, 2017.

As a government agency, DOST is mandated to provide central direction in Science and Technology. The ‘products’ displayed were the technologies being developed  and commercialized by the Research Institutes of the department and other researches of Higher Educational Institutions.

Most of the technologies were printed in tarpaulins and were hanged around the provided kiosk so the people passing by were able to read them. Technologies in tarpaulins include MykoPlus (fertilizers and plant growth enhancer), Semen Extender for Goat, Handtractor-Attached Rice Transplanter, Momsie (ready-to-eat complementary food paste for infants and young children), Tubig Talino and Water Plus, STARBOOKS (ICT-Based Learning) and Environmental Monitoring and Restoration technologies (Automated Weather Station, Agrometeorological Station (Agromet), Water Level Monitoring Station).

Actual technologies displayed and tested during the three-day activity were Portable Biogas Digester, Ceramic Water Filter and RxBox. Fora or clinic were conducted daily most especially on these technologies. Free check-up on blood pressure were also conducted using the RxBox spearheaded by Ms. Eva Dimog, the Regional Training Coordinator of the technology in Region 02.

Some Food Innovation Center (FIC) food products were available in the DOST booth such as Camote Tea, Veggie Soup, Ampalaya Tea and other Ready-to-eat Food Products such as crispy sweet potato, crispy sprouted mongo, crispy mixed veggies and crispy okra.

During the event, the PSTC staff displayed and sold DOST-Assisted products such as wines of Wilmarsha Food Products, banana chips of Chiquizon and Fresh & Mighty juices and Chicharabao from Tuguegarao City.
