Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya- The Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya through its Provincial Cooperative Affairs Office (PCAO) in partnership with Department of Science and Technology, Provincial Science and Technology Center Nueva Vizcaya conducted a three-day seminar on innovation and enterprises development focused on productivity management to selected 30 micro enterprises at the Pasalubong and Livelihood Center, Magsaysay, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya on October 11-13, 2016.

d the following topics as discussed mostly by Engr. Jonathan R. Nuestro, DOST-PSTC Director: Overview of innovation and enterprise development, productivity concepts & tools, common pitfalls of MSMEs/ early warning signals of distressed
enterprises, 5S, total quality management, and business management framework focused on Philippine Quality Challenge/Award.
Engr. Nuestro stressed that in order to improve productivity of MSMEs, leaders or managers should be knowledgeable on how to become productive. Productive in a sense that they should be creative with new ways and ideas, innovate their products and have skills on productivity m
anagement. Entrepreneurship is innovation plus creativity, he said.

rovincial Cooperative Affairs Officer, shared that MSMEs should enhanced their productivity to lower their cost so that they should be competitive to foreign companies because of the ASEAN Integration. Olivia C. Toledo, MAA II also from PCAO lectured on bookkeeping and its analy
sis. Two of the staff of PCAO actively participated in all the activities.
All of the participants have not yet attended any training on productivity management. Thereby, Eduard Ranjo, Chairman of the Nueva Vizcaya Livestock Marketing Cooperative (NVLMC); Joselito Calleja of Villa Coloma Sash and Furniture shop, Alona Guting of A&V Guting Rice Mill and some of the participants expressed their gratefulness during the closing program because they were able to gain better knowledge to become productive. – ronbullawit.
