Prior to the speaking engagement of Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang at Nueva Vizcaya State University Bayombong Campus on June 15, he visited selected SETUP clients in the province and awarded assistance through the Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) Program of DOST to GK Illinois at Malasin, Dupax Del Norte and GK Ari-tau at Darapidap, Aritao.

The awarding was held at GK Illinois Hall where the Mayor of the Municipality of Dupax Del Norte, Hon. Timothy Joseph E. Cayton and the GK Head of Nueva Vizcaya Cluster, Engr. Aileen B. Ellamil were present. Also, present during the event were the six (6) intern students from France and three (3) intern students from School for Experience & Entrepreneurial Development (SEED) in Bulacan.

The 200K financial assistance awarded to them would be for the development of their livelihood project. For GK Illinois , it will be used for the purchase of three (3) units of fish cages & one (1) unit of fish dryer. For GK Ari-tau, it will be used for the purchase of one (1 )unit of mushroom house and two (2) units of drum autoclaves for pasteurizing fruiting bags.

To ensure the success of the project, the PSTC Office would conduct quarterly monitoring and evaluation together with the GK head, Engr. Aileen B. Ellamil. In addition, liquidation will be submitted after 6 months of the implementation of the project.
