The DOST R02 through PSTC NV distributed a total of ten (10) portasols in the province this 1st semester of the year.
Portasol is a multi purpose solar speed drying trays designed for drying not only grains but also other products.

The portasol developed by Francisco Pagayon, president and CEO of Filipino Inventors Society Producers Cooperative (FISPC) aims to provide fast, safe, and clean solar dryers on any ground away from roads and highways.
Beneficiaries of the portasols include the BLGU of Sinapaoan (1 unit), LGU of Ambaguio (5 units), LGU of Quezon (1 unit), Talbec Coffee Growers Association in Dupax del Sur (1 unit), LGU of Kayapa (1 unit), & LGU of Dupax del Norte (1 unit).

Engineer Jonathan R. Nuestro, PSTC-NV Provincial Director , said that the portasols will benefit farmers most especially during the rainy season for they will still be able to dry their grains for the portasols have covers.
The Portasol comes with twelve (12) sets of trays with one (1) hood (kapote) and one (1) manual booklet. A complete set of portasol has a value of Php. 25,000.00.

To assess the usability of the equipment, beneficiaries will submit quarterly report. # (FDS)
