May 04, 2017 – A check  amounting Php 150,000.00 was awarded to Alfonso Castaneda Coco Producers Cooperative by Provincial Director Engr. Jonathan R. Nuestro at Lub-lub, Alfonso Castaneda, Nueva Vizcaya in the presence of its officers and members.  The assistance is under DOST R02 Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program which aims to sustain and develop the livelihood of the cooperative through the purchase of additional production equipment, enhancement of packaging and labeling,  conduct of laboratory tests for quality product and technology training.

A simple awarding ceremony was conducted where Mr. Rommel Simbol, SRS II of PSTC Nueva Vizcaya shared how the officers and members were able to avail the assistance through the commitment expressed by Regional Director Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang.   PD Nuestro  explained to the association the content of the memorandum of agreement they signed.

Mrs. Filipina Rose F. Espanta, former Chairperson and Mrs. Eva Baytik, new chairperson expressed their gratitude to DOST02 for the assistance they received. They assured the office that they will use the assistance solely for the intended project.

After the awarding, Engr. Nuestro presented and promoted  the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) and  the Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory to the members and some employees of LGU Alfonso Castaneda.   A training on 5’s of good housekeeping was also conducted to help improve their workplace.
